Cancellation FAQs

The rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding COVID-19 have required the cancellation of the 2020 Healthcare Marketing & Physician Strategies Summit, April 5-7 in Las Vegas.  While we will not be able to meet in April, we are exploring the possibility of rescheduling the meeting later this year, as well as planning for a special virtual/digital experience. Additional information is provided below, and updates will be provided as we work through the details.

Why did you decide to cancel now?

Given the latest COVID-19 developments and CDC guidelines, and the speed at which things are changing, the April dates for the Summit were just not possible. Now more than ever before, healthcare marketing and communications executives need to be home leading their organizations’ efforts to communicate critical health and safety information to employees, physicians, and community members.

Will HMPS20 be rescheduled to take place later this year?

We are exploring the possibility of rescheduling the event later in the year. We hopefully will have an answer by March 25th and will provide an update then.

Will any sessions be made available virtually?

We are already working on plans for a virtual conference, through which many of the sessions would be presented live online. All attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and faculty will be contacted with further information. Please continue to watch for updates regarding HMPS20 Virtual on www.healthcarestrategy.com.

Will attendees and exhibitors have access to a mobile app or site with session presentations and other conference materials?

Yes, all who registered for the Summit will have access to session handouts and other conference materials via the HMPS20 Mobile App. Information on downloading the app will be emailed in late March or early April.

I was not registered to attend HMPS20 in Las Vegas. Will I be able to purchase a registration for HMPS20 Virtual?

Yes, registration information for HMPS Virtual will be made available for those interested in attending who were not previously registered for HMPS20. Updates will be posted on www.healthcarestrategy.com.

Will faculty, attendee, and exhibitor registrations be refunded or given a credit?

We will get back to you as soon as possible with information regarding refunds or credits. Please be patient as we work out the details. This is an unprecedented situation and there is much to consider.

Will any refunds be provided for airline tickets?

As all attendees made their airline reservations directly with the airlines, please contact your airline directly to change or cancel your tickets.

Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded for hotel costs?

The Cosmopolitan will automatically cancel your existing reservation and return your advance deposit via the payment method in which you booked. Please contact the Cosmopolitan at 702-698-7000 or 877-551-7778 if you have questions. If your reservation was at another hotel, please contact the hotel directly for their cancellation policies.

Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?

HMPS20 exhibitors will be contacted with further information soon. Please be patient as we work out the details. This is an unprecedented situation and there is much to consider.

Will exhibitors be refunded for services by GES?

GES will be contacting exhibitors to get any freight you have shipped returned to you and to get any refunds due squared away. Please work directly with GES or other contracted vendors for any questions related to refunds and contracted services.
